Sumber http://tradisional-bib.blogspot.my/2007/03/permainan-sepak-raga.html

Contohnya, saya pernah main sepak takraw, dulu orang Melaka panggil sepak raga.

TARIKH : 25 DISEMBER 2017

MASA : 11.00 pagi - 1.00 petang dad 3.00 petang - 5.00 petang.

TEMPAT : MUZIUM ISTANA KESULTANAN MELAKA

Muzium Kapal Selam, Melaka
Hari Sabtu. 16 hb. Disember 2017.

Melawat Muzium Kapal Selam,
Bunyi dihasil buluh belaga,

Masa pun dah dekat 11 pagi, persembahan pun nak bermula.

Games played last century

Watch the games this Christmas. Monday 25thDecember 2017. Time 11 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm. Get your kids to agree to follow you  to Muzium Istana Kesultanan Melayu. Once all races played the games happily together with satisfaction. Are kids today really happy and satisfied playing digital games? Do not miss the chance to watch how kids of yesteryears played the games. Today, kids are not playing such games ! Why?

Some may think the replaying of old games at the museum only attracts the interests of historians. Others may feel that a few anthropologists might want to research the birth of old games played by kids during the last century and the changing lifestyles of old and modern Melaka. Misunderstood, some may think the games are only played by Malay kids. Games has not discriminated anyone, now or then, for games is a means of social interaction and sportsmanship. Let’s participate and join the fun in Melaka.

Beside ritual dances, hunting and sex, game is as old as mankind. Industrialization hastily changes the choices for games and now technology swept games aside overnight. Probably, one of the earliest games was to kill ferocious tiger by tribe warriors and the pledging of their lives to the headman. That life-threatening game was discarded when man discovered fire. To name one game created after the discovery of fire is the Shadow Game.

Wind showed early man how to fan bigger flames and unknowingly, he began the use of a new energy. With the help of wind, smoke was used as a signal to inform his fellowmen of a certain message.

Fast-forward, I continue to write about forgotten old games from the 1900s in Malay language …

The Melaka Museum Corporation or Perbadanan Muzium Melaka is sharing traditional games once played this coming Monday 25th December 2017.

Venue : Muzium Istana Kesultanan Melaka

Time : 11 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 5 pm.

Atuk bercerita, cucu termenung,
Orang tersayang dekat di hati,
Persembahan kampung turut berlangsung,
Monorel kita, mest kami menaiki.

Monorail will show you this part of Melaka ...

The boats berthed on the northern bank of the river before dawn, and even when first light breaks the darkness, a few boats still kept coming in from the Straits waters. Such was the scenes for many years when I had carried vegetable, chicken, fish and meat for my mum during festive as she adhered strictly to traditional values.

Each time on my trip there, I noticed the unique houses of Kampung Morten proudly complementing the swaying branches of plants and trees dancing alongside the rhythm of the splashing water flowing downstream of the Melaka River or Sungai Melaka, in Malay language. The village name is named after Ferdinand Morten who had relocated the folks who were living in Kampung Jawa during earlier days. Do you know why Morten relocated the people from Kampung Jawa to Kampung Morten ? Check out the reasons as you slowly digest the immense heritage of Kampung Morten slowly at a speed of 8 km per hour provided by the monorail. Find out the location to board the monorail here.

Godowns were located along the southern riverbank parallel to Casa del Rio with the river bonding them as a home, truly as new and old objects to this heritage city. For your knowledge, the godown is still there. Similar godowns were built next to Kampung Morten and these godowns is an evidence to the facts that goods were promoted by traders from the west to the east.

Though early industrialization was born on Jalan Tukang Besi, proper manufacturing only started on Jalan Kilang after independence. The monorail gives you an air-view ride along the industrial site soon transforming into a themepark. When the Jalan Kilang or Industry Road began, none knew there will be a Batu Berendam Free Trade zone, the Ayer Keroh Industrial area, or the Bukit Rambai Industrial area.

I am just briefly writing about only two locations which represented a small portion of the 25 minutes ride the monorail is covering. I thought I wanted to touch on more locations but by writing, I believed I can’t make you feel the exact excitement and the fun, when you are in the cabin of the monorail.

From years of observation, I see followers would prefer to watch the whites take the lead in trying new technology, the electrical-technology in this respect, but the Chinese is paving the recent trends as takers of new technology. Why don’t you begin your first ride from Stesen Tun Ali ?

Why you must visit the Melaka Sultanate Museum

Second World War and before was a fate for Melaka and the Melaka Sultanate has an empire, famous to the west and the east. Even till today, the Daulat of a ruler has to be respected.

The Sultan had his officials :

  • The Bendahara (a road name still exist today where the IBIS Hotel is located)

  • The Penghulu Bendahari

  • The Temenggung (a road name still exist today where the Sterling Boutique Hotel is located)

  • The Laksamana (a road name still exist today where this road lead you to the Stadhuys)

  • The Syahbandar (an area name still exist today where modern landscape is taking shape within Kota Syahbandar.
and others.

The Bendahara had a task similar to that of a Prime Minister while the Penghulu Bendahari was in charge of finance.

The wisdom of " A picture tell a thousand words " guide us to see to understand better. The Melaka Sultanate Museum or Muzium Istana Kesultanan Melaka housed a complete scenario with figurines make an imprint in every visitor mind.

I was thinking how to wish you. (Dengan izin semasa) By luck, YB become a "pencetus minda" for me. So I grab the opportunity to write this poem for you.

Malaysia, kita punya tanahair,
Kaya-raya bersatu, semenjak dahulu,
Jangan biar warisan menjadi cair,

Semoga kita sentiasa kaya-raya belaka,

The feasting is going on. The prayer is conducted. And the chairs must not be touched because the deities are seated. The Wangkang heritage performed by this temple was listed under the National Heritage Act 2005. This temple is named Yong Chuan Tian Temple, located on Bandar Hilir Road for 200 years already.

The 5 days prayers from Thursday 28 December 2017 to Monday 1 January 2018, include gods from several temples in northern peninsular Malaysia and a temple from Fujian, China.

In welcoming the new year, a feast is devoted to all visiting gods and all dishes offerings are carefully, cooked and presented in favor to the expectations of the deities. The chairs for the deities are arranged around a long table with incense paper and they are not to be touched while the Sai Kong conduct the rites and ritual according to ancient Taoism procedures.  This same event was previously performed in 1926. It has been 92 years since.

Image Owner is at url http://generalabout.blogspot.my

Last night, a procession emerged from the temple premise and reached the shore of the Straits of Melaka beside the Hatten Place to invite the Ongyah who take seat on the sedan chair back to the temple before midnight. Again, the sacred chairs move and form Chinese characters along the journey the procession take.

Look at the dishes offerings and the finest ancient culinary cooking skills never would you be able to see on any ordinary times.

A plate of lobsters is placed in the centre near to the altar followed by a roasted pig flanked by a chicken and a duck. Accompany them are crabs and prawns, raw gingers, duanyuan and glasses of liquor. Typical of the imperial feasting of emperors, the feasting today is not a common one, not even the riches has dine in a restaurant.

Kenapa Kampung Morten perlu lebih ramai pelawat ?

$
0
0

1.       Menambah pelangan peniaga makanan. Video
2.       Menambah pelangan di Restoran Melayu. Video
3.       Menambah pelangan monorel. Video
4.       Menambah pelangan HomeStay.
5.       Menggalakan pelancong memilih The Pines Hotel, The Majestic Hotel ataupun The Swiss Garden Hotel  sebagai tempat penginapan mereka.

A brief history of the establishment of the Malaysian Youth Museum

The history of youth movements in Malaysia has been traced back to the end of the 19thcentury. It was felt that society in general and youths in particular had not know enough of the progress and the milestones of the youth movements.

The Malaysian Youth Council is aware of the lack of knowing by the society at large and the youth in particular.

The council decided that a Malaysian Youth Museum be established to remind how the youth can directly or indirectly play a role in the country socio-economic development at the state and national levels.

The existence of a Youth Museum in Malaysia is in line with the efforts by the Malaysian Youth Council to promote the formation of a dynamic and progressive younger generation by the year 2000.
How many young Malaysians today know the youth before 1950 did in the field of writing, thinking, education and politics ?

How youth was trained 5 decades ago ?

Have you personally see the cement block bearing the footprints cast of Lord Baden Powell ?

How youth today and last time get involved in the following :

Outdoor
Discipline
Sport
Nature
Fitness
Community
Arts and Culture

Why must I visit the Naning Museum

$

0

Why did the British launched their attack in 1831 with two mismanaged and costly campaigns before the Company’s forces seized Tabuh, the capital of Naning. The expensive Naning War cost about £100,000.

The people of Naning at that time is of Minangkabau descent and they planted rice, cultivated Sirih and bred cattle. I have heard from the Malay friend that the girls Was the harvest attractive or the refusal of the Naning chief to submit to sovereign of the British made the war?
Naning lying inland to the north of Melaka had been part of Negeri Sembilan until 1832 when it was defeated.

Because of the past influence as a Negeri Sembilan territory, the game Batu Seremban is being played within Naning. A girls game, I have seen my wife’s sisters playing in their Bertam Village home 3 decades ago, not knowing where the game’s origin. How to play? Watch here.

Another game for girls, Congkak is a piece of teak wood with 16 holes and some more, encourages mental calculation. How to play? Watch here.

Watch other games– Teng Teng, Galah Panjang, Tembak Getah and the art of weaving Anyaman Daun Ketupat.

You would be able to watch the video after I shoot the event tomorrow. So please come back after Saturday 3 Jan 2018, where the One Day With Community is taking place within the Naning Museum.

Aging Skin + Vitamin C = Healthy Skin

$
0
0

Over time and with daily oxidative exposure, skin develops deep lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture and dullness.

With Vitamin C. 10.5 percent of Pure Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) absorbed into skin and starts working immediately upon contact. 2 percent Vitamin Cg (Ascorbyl Glucoside) activates once absorbed into the upper-layers of skin forming L-Ascorbic Acid to boost Vitamin C activity over time.

After that, a healthy shine again when the lines and wrinkles are visibly diminished. Radiance is improved and the skin texture is noticeably smoothed. The time taken for result is immediate for radiance smoother skin, 2 weeks for reducing lines and wrinkles and 4 weeks for visibly reduced deep-set wrinkles.

While skin cells do not have the ability to produce Vitamin C, the ingredient is an essential part of collagen production. Therefore, in addition to eating a diet rich of the potent anti-oxidant, it is important to apply a topical Vitamin C to return skin to a healthy state and reduce the appearance of aging.

Vitamin C products are not only for those who are looking for solutions to correct signs of aging, but also those who want to prevent the aging process from starting early. Vitamin C is one of the best known anti-oxidants, protecting skin against UV damage caused by free radicals. So, Vitamin C is for all skin types, and is for all ages.

It is true that not all Vitamin C’s are created equal. Kiehl’s expertise in Vitamin C had led them to additional forms of the ingredient. They choose which Vitamin C to use based on specific skincare benefits of each form. Together, Pure Vitamin C and Vitamin Cg are a stabilized and powerful demonstration of formula efficacy.

When sourcing ingredients, Kiehl’s always searches for those with powerful skincare efficacy. However, we are mindful to utilize the right ingredients at the most beneficial concentration. By keeping the concentration of Vitamin C balanced and stable, formula experience and application is optimized. In this case, more does not equal better every time.

I am using Youth Activator. I am going to use Kiehl's next time !

How to make a different Sunday

February 4, 2018
The River Grill, Casa del Rio, Melaka

Sunday is a day almost everyone would take things easy, rest and relax at the comfort of the home. Yet there are many people working on Sunday dedicated to serve their customers and guests.

Some would wake up late on Sunday and some would go to churches. Practically, my wife and me would go to the wet market first thing in the morning to get food supplies enough for a week consumption. Then we packed breakfast for our children after we have ours near to the market. Unless there is something more important to attend to, we showed care to an elderly women who is near 90 of age.

Before noon clothing has been put to dry from the house front to the back along a 90 feet cable, cars washed, toilet and bathroom cleaned. Before the sun set, it is time to really rest and relax. Most Sundays of the 52 weeks are patterned that way.

It will be nice and meaningful when we changed the patterns of Sundays in between the weekends for a year.

Last Sunday, we enjoyed a nice Hi-Tea served by The River Grill at Casa del Rio on Taman Kota Laksamana, Melaka [ Link : The River Grill ] Reserved yours with +606 289 6888 It was so comfortable and I feel pampered.

To watch Chef William doing the Chicken Quesadillas is nice, what more eating it. The molten coated Marshmallow is yummy. The dishes are excellently positioned to let diners scoop or grab the food onto their plates. Watch more what you can eat here.
