Thus I have heard: While wandering through many lands to convert beings, Bhagavan arrived at Vaisali.
He dwelt under a resounding tree, and with him was a big crowd of beings, including eight thousands monks, thirty-six thousand Great Bodhisattvas, as well as kings, ministers, brahmins, lay-disciples, the eight groups of dragons, and other celestial beings, such as kimnaras and the rest.
This infinite mass surrounded him with devotion.
He preached to them.
